The standard word search is a grid of letters, within which a provided list of words is hidden, each one in a straight line in one of 8 directions (orthogonally or diagonally). Frequently the unused letters spell a final message. In World Puzzle Championship usage, the words may extend into a region where the letters are omitted and your goal is to identify all the missing letters (which are all used in at least one word), and this kind may show up in Hunts as well.
