World Puzzle Championship 2004

Since 1999 I have been trying out for the US team to the World Puzzle Championship each May/June. I have done well every year, never lower than 15th, but in 2004 for the first time I actually made the team. The championship was in Opatija, Croatia October 12-17, and we won! For the first time since 2001, the USA won the team title. I finished 19th out of about 90 individuals, which everybody thought was a great finish for a first-timer.
