This round purported to be the 1983 MIT Mystery Hunt, long missing from the archives. It turned out that the 1983 Hunt had been in the archives all along, but mislabeled as the 1982 Hunt, due to the first three Hunts not having years printed on them, and an error from an old article about the Mystery Hunt that wrongly gave 1980 rather than 1981 as the year of the first Hunt. Brad Schaefer, the creator of these early Hunts, set the record straight.
