This mural appears just outside Hayden Library at MIT. It shows several men trying to describe an elephant, and is perhaps a version of the parable of the blind men and an elephant, in which each man feels a different part of the elephant, describes it to the other blind men, and they argue over the true nature of the elephant because of the different perceptions of it they have had.
