These are physical puzzles where a set of solid pieces must be assembled so that the pieces interlock and form some tight shape (or alternatively, disassembled from that solved state). The traditional form consists of six 2x2x6 blocks with various cubes or other parts cut out of their middles, with a solution where two pieces run lengthwise along each of three perpendicular axes. Other forms of puzzles based on interlocking polycubes are sometimes included in this category.
